Visit the Archives
The Bendigo Regional Archives Centre (BRAC) Reading Room is open for visitors and researchers on Wednesdays and Thursdays from 10am to 4.30pm (except public holidays).
We are located on the 1st floor of the new Bendigo Library at 251-259 Hargreaves Street.
Visitors will need to contact BRAC firstname.lastname@example.org to find out what to do before coming to the centre and to make sure records will be available in time for your visit.
- It means you can find out about accessing the information you are looking for.
- You can find out if there is anything you need to bring or order before you arrive.
Please bring as much information as you can about your research. This will save you a lot of time and effort.
We will give you as much support as we can to carry out your research but please remember that we cannot carry out your research for you.
Order BRAC Records
Researchers can come in person to use BRAC records and documents. To access these records researchers must first identify and then order the records they wish to use. We recommend you contact BRAC staff for assistance with this process.
Go to our Order Records page. This has a step by step guide to ordering BRAC records.
Most of our records are listed online in a central catalogue. To access these records you must order through the Public Records Office Victoria (PROV) online catalogue: www.access.prov.vic.gov.au
BRAC records not listed online must be ordered through BRAC staff. See the Order Records page for instructions.
